Something New

In an effort to actually do something rather than just talking about doing it, I have just created this blog for the members of the George W. Scott family. Previously, I have written up articles or stories, or copied family pictures and sent them to family members by snail mail. The difficult thing about that method is that once the story is written, I still have to print it umpteen times, then address envelopes, buy stamps, and get the whole shebang in the mail. Hopefully, (and I am ever hopeful) this blog will solve my problems of procrastination, time management, and laziness, so that whatever genealogical tidbits I may come up with will get posted immediately; and then it will be up to family members to read them. I hope you will read them.

If this works, perhaps we can make it a team effort, so more members of the family can post items of interest concerning George W. Scott, his ancestry and descendants.

For starters, I will again be traveling to the local Family History Center on this coming Tuesday, November 29, where a very sweet lady will help me search for great-grandmother Jane Leprade. This lady also has French Canadian ancestry, has just recently learned how to do it, and tells me that we will find Jane with no trouble at all. After 30 years of searching for her, this is hard for me to believe, but I am praying that it will work. I went to the FHC two weeks ago, and just as I walked in, the internet went down. I was going to go again this week, but found out they were closed for Thanksgiving. So, I will try again this coming week. Your prayers would be most appreciated!
